Flaming Rib (Ribchester) became the first Stakes winner for his sire when taking the Listed Doncaster Stakes over six furlongs at Doncaster on Saturday, 23 October.
Continuing a flying run of form, the two-year-old colt recorded a fourth straight victory with a dazzling front running performance under jockey Pierre-Louis Jamin. Unmatched in the final furlong, the first crop son of Ribchester stayed on to well to win by a length.
Bred by Kildaragh Stud, Flaming Rib is the first foal out of an Excelebration half-sister to the G2-winning and G1-placed Savoir Vivre. They are out of the Listed-winning Monsun mare Soudaine, an own sister to G2 Hansa-Preis victor Simoun and half-sister to the Listed-winning Soignee, dam of the multiple G1-winning Stacelita.
Champion miler Ribchester had already enjoyed success earlier in the day with the Richard Hannon-trained Gisburn recording a second victory at Newbury. Flaming Rib and Gisburn are among 13 individual first crop winners for their sire who is currently standing the southern hemisphere season at Hanuai Farm in New Zealand.
