Highfield Princess, a first crop daughter of Night Of Thunder, landed her first Black Type race on Sunday, 4 July when winning the Listed Queen Charlotte Fillies’ Stakes. Sent straight to the front in the seven furlong contest, she battled gamely in the straight to record a neck triumph over Double Or Bubble (Exceed And Excel).
Now the winner of seven of her 16 career starts, Highfield Princess came into the race on the back of a triumph at Royal Ascot in the Buckingham Palace Handicap.
Bred by Trainers House Enterprises Ltd, Highfield Princess is out of the winning Danehill-mare Pure Illusion, and a half-sister to four winners including G2-winning juvenile Cardsharp (Lonhro).
Highfield Princess is from the impressive first crop of Night Of Thunder that now includes 16 Stakes winners. Amongst that number is recent G1 Pretty Polly heroine Thundering Nights and eight further Group winners.
Night Of Thunder has now sired 18% Stakes winners to first crop runners. At the same stage of their careers, his sire, Dubawi, was on 15%; and his broodmare sire, Galileo, 13%.
