First Palace Pier yearling sells in Japan

Colt out of Incarville impresses at 61,600,000 Yen (£298,000)

Palace Pier, a Champion at both three and four, had an excellent result with his first yearling through the ring on Monday, 8 July, when his son out of Incarville made 61,600,000 Yen (£298,000) at the JRHA Select Sale.

Consigned by his breeders Northern Farm, he was the first foal out of the 2021 G1 Prix Saint-Alary heroine Incarville, and was bought by Yamamoto Mataichiro.

Palace Pier won five top-flight races over a mile; the St James’s Palace and Prix Jacques Le Marois at three, and the Queen Anne, Lockinge and a second Prix Jacques Le Marois as a four-year-old. Very well supported in his first three seasons at stud, his first foals averaged £102,000 last season with Godolphin buying the top lot at 200,000gns.
