Fireglow, a three-year-old daughter of Teofilo, appreciated the step up to a mile-and-a-half on Saturday 30 July when running out the ready winner of the Listed Chalice Stakes at Newmarket. A good class juvenile when winning Listed races at Newmarket and Sandown, she had been running with credit this season including a fourth in the 1,000 Guineas behind Minding back in May.
Out of the G3-placed King’s Best mare Fading Light, Fireglow hails from the extended family of Derby hero Camelot.
Fireglow is one of 26 Stakes horses sired by Teofilo in 2016 including top-flight scorers Special Fighter and Palentino, G1 performers Massaat and Kermadec and progressive Stakes winners Portage and Scottish.
