Judicial has been a superb flagbearer for both his sire Iffraaj and his owner/ breeders Elite Racing Club, and on Monday, 10 August he proved once again that age is no barrier to success when landing the Listed Queensferry Stakes at Chester.
Conceding weight to all seven of his rivals, Judicial was settled just behind the early pace before sweeping to the lead a furlong from home. Once in front, he kept to his task brilliantly to win by two and three-quarter lengths.
This was his second Black Type win of 2020, having also won the G3 Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle in June. He now has five Stakes victories and 16 career wins to his record.
Judicial is a half-brother to Champion sprinter Marsha, who won a brace of G1s in the Nunthorpe Stakes and Prix de l’Abbaye. His dam, the Stakes-winning Marju mare Marlinka, hails from the family of Soviet Song and Ribbons (by late Darley stallion Manduro).
Judicial is one of 35 Group winners for Iffraaj, whose outstanding dual Champion miler Ribchester will have his first yearlings at the sales this year.
