Dubawi’s successful globetrotting son, Rebel’s Romance, clinched his fifth top-flight success with a comfortable victory in the 2400m Champions & Chater Cup at Sha Tin, Hong Kong on Sunday, 26 May.
Trained for Godolphin by Charlie Appleby, the six-year-old travelled strongly on the outside in second under William Buick, approaching the 600m marker Rebel’s Romance began to make his challenge and was neck and neck entering the home straight with the long-time leader, Moments In Time. With just over 200m left to run Rebel’s Romance got his head in front and scorched home to win by two lengths.
