Shamardal, Europe’s leading first-season sire, recorded his 15th individual winner in Europe on 29 September when Godolphin’s Landowner was victorious over seven furlongs at Warwick.
Making all under Ahmed Ajtebi, Landowner was asked to quicken a furlong from home and ran on well to win by a length.
Bred by Compagnia Generale S R L, he is out of the Stakes-placed Zafonic mare Rentless and was a €280,000 yearling, purchased at last year’s SGA Sale.
Shamardal is also sire of G3 Solario Stakes and Goff Million winner Shakespearean, plus the highly-rated Arctic who lines up in this Friday’s G1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket.
