Earthlight continues to fire in the winners

Sir Crater wins well in France to become his first-season sire’s 17th successful runner

Freshman sire Earthlight added a new winner to his record on Tuesday, 5 November when his son Sir Crater ran out the easy winner of the one-mile conditions race at Bordeaux le Bouscat.

Settled in fifth position early on, Sir Crater was asked for his effort once entering the home straight and quickened impressively to soon move clear of his rivals and win by two lengths.

Sir Crater was bred by S.A.S. Mata Horse and is out of the four-time winner Forest Maiden (Invincible Spirit), herself a half-sister to multiple G2 winner Loxley and out of the G1 winner Lady Marian.

Earthlight has made a very promising start to his stud career, siring G1 Cheveley Park second, G1 Morny third and G3 winner Daylight. He is also sire of Molecomb Stakes third and multiple winner Mr Lightside.

Earthlight will stand the 2025 season at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €12,500, Oct 1, SLF.
