Dynamic Pricing put in a furious rally in the final furlong to get up and win the G2 Edgewood Stakes at Churchill Downs on Friday, 3 May.
The three-year-old Night Of Thunder filly, who was winning for the second time in four starts, notched her first Graded Stakes victory in the 8.5-furlong turf contest. Earlier this year she finished third, beaten just a half-length, in the G3 Sweetest Chant Stakes at Gulfstream Park.
Patiently ridden by Irad Ortiz Jr., Dynamic Pricing was settled in mid-pack as longshot Maxisuperfly led the field through the early stages of the race. Swung wide at the top of the stretch, Dynamic Pricing rallied wide out near the center of the course, eventually reeling in Way To Be Marie in the shadow of the wire to win by a half-length.
Bred in Ireland by Epona Bloodstock, Dynamic Pricing is out of Shemda, a winning daughter of Dutch Art. Shemda is a half-sister to multiple Graded Stakes winner Shamida (Australia) and to Stakes-placed Shajak (Zarak).
Night Of Thunder is Dubawi’s best proven stallion son, siring 37 Black Type winners to date and proving more profitable at last year’s sales than any other stallion standing at over €50,000, bar only Frankel.
Night Of Thunder stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €100,000, Oct 1, SLF.
