Dubawi sires the first two home in the Oaks

Ezeliya beats Dance Sequence in the Epsom showpiece

Dubawi’s long awaited first Oaks victory ended on Friday 31 May when his daughter Ezeliya beat Dance Sequence at Epsom. Owned and bred by the Aga Khan, the two had a sustained battle inside the final two furlongs, with the Irish-trained filly eventually running out the three-length winner.

Out of the Teofilo mare Eziyra, who herself was placed in an Irish Oaks, Ezeliya is from a deep Aga Khan family that includes notable G1-winning stayers Enzeli, Estimate and Ebadiyla.

Dubawi has again been enjoying a magnificent season, and has now sired four G1 winners in 2024, more than any other stallion in the world. His three-year-old Notable Speech was the thrilling winner of the 2,000 Guineas, Rebel’s Romance has won G1s in both UAE and Hong Kong, plus Master Of The Seas landed the Maker’s Mark Mile at Keeneland in April.
