Geologist, a two-year-old daughter of Territories, gained a well deserved first Stakes victory on Sunday, 24 September when triumphing in Germany. Lining up in the Listed Winterkönigin Trial over 1500m in Koln, she jumped straight to the front under jockey Hollie Doyle and rallied gamely to record a narrow victory.
After breaking her maiden on her third start at Ripon, Geologist has subsequently finished third in the G3 Prix Six Perfections at Deauville and second in a valuable sales race at Newmarket.
Bred by Mrs Janis Macpherson, Geologist is a daughter of the unraced Dutch Art mare Parknasilla, a daughter of the Group-winning juvenile Palanca.
Territories has sired 11 Stakes performers in 2023 including G1-winning sprinter Regional, and Group juveniles Mister Sketch and Navassa Island, second and third in the G2 Mill Reef and G3 Firth Of Clyde Stakes yesterday at Newbury and Ayr.
