Night Of Thunder’s brilliant first-crop daughter Highfield Princess gained another G1 triumph on Friday, 19 August when running out the very easy winner of the Nunthorpe Stakes. Run over York’s flying five furlongs, the progressive five-year-old won easily by two-and-three-quarter lengths.
Now the winner of 11 career races, Highfield Princess had won her previous start at Deauville in the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest over 1300m 12 days earlier.
Owned and bred by Trainers House Enterprises, Highfield Princess is a daughter of the Danehill mare Pure Illusion, who has already produced a G2-winning juvenile in Cardsharp (Lonhro).
Highfield Princess is the star of Night Of Thunder’s brilliant first crop that contains 22% Stakes winners to runners, higher than both his sire Dubawi and broodmare sire Galileo did with theirs. It has been another exceptional 2022 for him, siring 11 Stakes winners including unbeaten G2-winning juvenile Isaac Shelby, and returning a near nine-time return on conception fee at the recent Arqana sale with his fifth crop yearlings.
