Blue Point’s superb season continued on Friday 30 June when his daughter Dazzling Star put up a very impressive performance to land the six-furlong Maiden Fillies’ Stakes on Newmarket’s July course.
Always prominent under William Buick, Charlie Appleby’s charge kicked clear at the two-furlong marker and was never seriously challenged, cruising home to win by three and a half lengths.
The Godolphin homebred is out of the Stakes-winning, G2-placed Dubawi mare Dancing Sands, also dam of New Approach’s Hampton Court Stakes third Bold Act.
Blue Point is also sire of Royal Ascot Black Type winner Big Evs, plus 90+-rated duo Thunder Blue and Blue Storm.
Also on Friday, Dubawi sired a new Group winner when his four-year-old daughter Al Husn collared Nashwa close to home to land the G3 Hoppings Fillies' Stakes at Newcastle.
This was the second consecutive Stakes victory for the Shadwell homebred, who won the Listed Rothesay Stakes at Ayr last time out. She holds entries in the G1 Nassau Stakes and G1 Yorkshire Oaks.
