Harry Angel’s purple patch continued on Thursday, 29 September as the first-season sire recorded his 18th individual winner when A Taste Of Honey ran out the gutsy winner of the seven-furlong novice at Lingfield.
Sent to the front approaching the first turn under Callum Shepherd, A Taste Of Honey always looked to be travelling well and saw off a sustained challenge in very genuine fashion from Saxon King to prevail by a head.
A Taste Of Honey was bred by Stratford Place Stud and Willow Bloodstock. She is out of the 15-time winner Gimme Some Lovin, herself a half-sister to G1 winner Muaraab and Exceed And Excel’s multiple Group winner Bungle Inthejungle. The mare has already produced a Black Type winner in Thammin (by Harry Angel’s own sire, Dark Angel).
Earlier this week, Harry Angel’s son Proverb stormed to a seven-length victory at Hamilton Park, while last week Revenite added a second straight win to his record.
