Harry Angel sired his first Group winner on Saturday, 4 March when his progressive three-year-old son Al Dasim battled to the front to take the six-furlong G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint at Meydan for his owner Sheikh Abdullah Almalek Alsabah.
The George Boughey-trained colt sat just off the leader under Mickael Barzalona, 400m out he made his challenge and took up the lead with 200m to run to go clear and win by two-and-a-quarter lengths. Al Dasim, a sprinter with a promising future, has now won his last five starts, with this being his third straight win at Meydan this year.
Bred by Skymarc Farm in Ireland, Al Dasim is out of the winning Dansili mare, Dance Hall Girl who has produced six other winners, including Stakes-winner and G1 Dewhurst fourth Tashweeq.
Harry Angel sired 27 winners in his first crop with 21 of those being rated 80+ by Timeform, they include fellow G2-placed colts Marshman and Vicious Harry. He is also the sire of Australian Listed-winning colt Arkansaw Kid, who finished third in the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes on his latest start.
