Blue Point’s first season with runners has been nothing short of sensational, with the young Darley sire recording two G1 winners and a further eight Black Type performers. Despite the season drawing to a close, he continues to fire in the winners with Graceful Mary the latest, following an impressive victory at Wolverhampton on Monday 13 November.
The Karl Burke-trained filly was sent straight to the front under Pierre-Louis Jamin and dictated the pace throughout the six-furlong contest. Asked to quicken a furlong out, Graceful Mary responded well and held off the challenge from eventual second Cerulean Summer more easily than the half-length margin would suggest.
Graceful Mary is out of the G3 winner Soraaya, a half-sister to G1 performer Declaration Of War and from the family of Champions Mr Big and Le Vie Dei Colori.
Blue Point is also sire of record-breaking G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere winner and Guineas contender Rosallion and G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint hero Big Evs – a four-time Stakes winner this year.
Blue Point stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €60,000, Oct 1, SLF.
