Europe's leading first-season sire Dubawi, who enjoyed such an outstanding two days at Doncaster last week with Sand Vixen and Poet’s Voice taking the G2 Flying Childers Stakes and G2 Champagne Stakes respectively, further extended his lead at the head of the first season sires’ table on 15 September when Mujaazef recorded a convincing victory at Listowel.
Settled in third position, the Kevin Prendergast-trained colt took the lead a furlong from home and ran on well to land the seven-furlong contest by three lengths
Bred by Usk Valley Stud, Mujaazef is out of the Green Desert mare Khubza, who is also dam of G2 winner and G1 Prix de la Foret third Trans Island and G3 winner Welsh Diva.
Khubza has a yearling colt by Dubai Destination, due to sell as Lot 491 at Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1 next month. She also has a filly foal by Shamardal and is currently in foal to Exceed And Excel.
Dubawi is leading first-season sire in Europe by both number of winners and prize money. He is sire of four Black type performers to date, including the aforementioned Sand Vixen and Poet’s Voice, both of whom will step up to G1 level for their next starts.
