Hallelujah U, a first-crop son of Pinatubo, gained his first victory on Thursday, 21 November when making all the running at Southwell. Progressive in two previous starts, he went straight to the front in the one-mile contest and battled gamely in the straight to defeat Highfield Sunshine by half-a-length.
Owned and bred by The Gredley Family, Hallelujah U is a half-brother to 11 winners including James Garfield (Exceed And Excel), winner of the G2 Mill Reef Stakes. His dam Whazzat (Daylami) also hails from the extended family of Champion juvenile Pinatubo.
Pinatubo has now sired 20 individual winners including five that have won or placed at Stakes level. As well as recent Listed winner Tipinso, he has numerous promising winners including Hallasan, Al Jafara, Andesite, Kirchner and Nizam.
He is standing this coming season at a fee of £30,000.
