Dubawi further cemented his position at the head of Europe’s first-season sire table on 23 August when his daughter Douala recorded an easy victory on her debut at Bremen.
In winning the seven-furlong contest by a length, she became the 19th individual winner for her sire, who has also sired four Black type performers in the past fortnight including St Hugh’s Stakes winner Sand Vixen and G2 filly Dubawi Heights.
Bred by Albert Steigenberger, Douala is the first foal out of the winning Cadeaux Genereux mare Desca, a full sister to German 2,000 Guineas winner Dicada and a half-sister to two further Black type winners, one of whom is Champion juvenile Diacada.
