Ghaiyyath’s first crop of three-year-olds have certainly hit their stride in recent weeks and he sired an impressive double on Friday, 11 April.
First to strike was his daughter Al Uqda who made all the running to win a good class Conditions race over 2100m at Saint-Cloud. The winner of her only start as a juvenile, the Haras d’Haspal bred filly holds Classic entries in the G1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches and Prix de Diane.
Later in the afternoon at Newbury, Gethin took a major step towards the Classics when winning by three-and-a-half lengths at Newbury.
A six-length winner of his only start at two, the colt bred by Elysian Bloodstock holds a G2 Dante and G1 Derby entry.
Ghaiyyath has now sired 11 three-year-old winners this season including the impressive G3 scorer Mandanaba and the highly rated winners Opera Ballo, Nightime Dancer and Bedouin Prince.
