Rhapsody, a filly from the first crop of Ghaiyyath, produced a sparkling debut on Monday, 7 October when winning at Yarmouth. Slow away from the stalls and held up out the back, she quickened impressively inside the final furlong to get the better of two solid rivals to win going away by half-a-length.
Bred by Lynn Lodge Stud, Rhapsody is the third winner bred out of the Stakes-performing Motivator mare Soul Searcher. Her yearling colt by Earthlight sold last month at Tattersalls Somerville Sale for 42,000gns.
Ghaiyyath’s first crop of runners already includes many promising starters with his Beverley hero Stanhope Gardens likely to contest the G3 Autumn Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.
What a debut!
