Earthlight sired another new winner this weekend as his juvenile son, Verdi Prati, produced a game performance to break his maiden on his second start in a 1200m maiden in Milan, Italy on Sunday, 29 September.
Jumping well from the gates, Verdi Prati, who is trained by Stefano Botti, travelled strongly as he made virtually all under Dario Vargiu. Challenged inside the final 400m, the colt stayed on gamely to prevail by half-a-length.
Bred in Ireland by Scuderia Incolinx, Verdi Prati is the third foal out of Atiam (Raven’s Pass), she was a Champion two-year-old filly in Italy and is the daughter of G3-scorer, Adamantina.
First-season sire, Earthlight, is now the sire of 13 individual winners. They are headed by his daughter, Daylight, she is a G3-winner and twice G1-placed and his juvenile son, Mr Lightside, who finished third in the G3 Molecomb Stakes and is a dual winner, whilst on Thursday, Symbol Of Honour looked exciting as he broke his maiden with a four-length victory at Newmarket.
