Capital punishment for colt’s Caulfield Guineas Prelude rivals.

Successive victories in Stakes grade for Harry Angel three-year-old.

Imposing colt Angel Capital completed back-to-back Black Type victories when fought off all challengers in the G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude over 1,400m on Saturday, 21 September.

Two weeks after winning the Listed McKenzie Stakes 1,200m at Moonee Valley, the youngster by former Irish-bred star Harry Angel out of Teofilo mare Bahamas proved too strong for Public Attention and Wanaruah in a driving finish.

Trained by Clinton McDonald at Cranbourne and well ridden by Ben Melham, Angel Capital scored his third win from only five starts and lifted his prize-money swag to $343,650.

A half-brother to Stakes winners Senor Toba and Berkeley Square, Angel Capital was bred by David Peacock and offered by Mill Park Stud, South Australia at the 2023 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

Upper Bloodstock paid $400,000 for the colt, who also has a two-year-old half-brother by Blue Point, a yearling half-sister by Pinatubo and his dam visited Blue Point last December.

Harry Angel has been enjoying an excellent week with 13 winners since last Saturday, including impressive juvenile debutant Fast Track Harry at Newbury yesterday.
