Audience, a son of Iffraaj, landed his biggest career triumph on Saturday, 18 May when winning the G1 Lockinge Stakes. Run over Newbury’s straight mile, he was sent to the front straight from the stalls and after setting strong fractions, ran on well to record a one-and-three-quarter lengths triumph over Charyn, with six-and-a-half lengths back to the third.
Lightly raced for a five-year-old, Audience has now won four of his 13 career starts including a triumph in the G3 Criterion Stakes at Newmarket last season.
Owned and bred by Cheveley Park Stud, Audience is one of three Group winners bred out of the Oasis Dream mare Ladyship including this years G3 Greenham Stakes hero Esquire (Harry Angel).
Iffraaj, who is standing this season at a fee of £10,000, is the sire of 12 G1 winners including Champions Ribchester and Wootton Bassett. He was also completing a Group double on the day after Western Empire had landed the G3 Belmont Sprint in Australia.
