Cracksman sires a new Stakes winner in exciting fashion on Thursday 7 September when his three-year-old daughter Shembala landed the Listed Darley Prix Joubert at Paris-Longchamp.
Settled towards the rear of the field under Stephane Pasquier, the Francis Graffard-trained filly had to come wide around the final turn but once asked for her effort, soon took up the running and won going away by two and a half lengths. This was her third victory this year.
Shembala is a homebred for The Aga Khan and is out of the winning Group performer Shebella (Dubai Destination). The dam is a half-sister to Group winner Glorious Army.
Cracksman is also sire this year of unbeaten French star Ace Impact, winner of the G1 Prix du Jockey Club and current favourite to take the Arc.
Also on Thursday, Blue Point’s promising son Elmonjed retained his unbeaten record when winning the six-furlong novice at Haydock. One of 31 individual winners so far for his first-season sire, he is entered in the G3 Prix Eclipse at Chantilly next weekend.
