Raven’s Pass’s stellar sales season continued at Tattersalls on Monday when a daughter of the Breeders’ Cup Classic winner topped the opening day of the October Book 2 sale when purchased for 370,000gns.
The winning bid was made by agent Tony Nerses for the filly, consigned by Rathbarry Stud. Lot 593 is out of the Invincible Spirit mare Aneedah, who was placed in the Listed Pavilion Stakes at Ascot as a three-year-old. The mare is a full-sister to this season’s dual G2-winning sprinter Muthmir, who rounded off his season earlier this month with third place in the G1 Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp, and a half-sister to the G3-winning juvenile My Titania.
Raven’s Pass had already been responsible for the €2m sale topper at the Goffs Orby yearling sale in September, while during Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling sales, three lots by the stallion sold for over 400,000gns.
Sepoy continued to record strong results during the opening day of trade, highlighted by a filly from Castledillon Stud who was purchased by Shadwell for 200,00gns. The filly is the first foal out of the Listed winner Burke's Rock (Cape Cross), and hails from the smart family of the G2 winner Halicarnassus.
Overall, Sepoy averaged 85,300gns for his ten lots sold during the first session, with four of his first crop of northern hemisphere yearlings sold for six-figure sums.
