Night Of Thunder sired the first two home in the G3 Prix du Prince d’Orange at ParisLongchamp on Sunday, 8 September. First past the post was his three-year-old son Ombudsman who just got the better of Start Of Day, who was coming here on the back of a Listed win.
The exciting Ombudsman has now won all this four career starts, making his debut only on 22nd June this season with a Newmarket Novice victory. Then followed a win at Leicester before taking the Listed Prix Nureyev at Deauville.
Bred by James Hanly and a 340,000gns yearling, Ombudsman is a son of the winning Dansili mare Syndicate, a half-sister to two Stakes winners. Syndicate also has a yearling filly by Night Of Thunder.
Night Of Thunder has been enjoying an excellent 2024 siring 14 individual Stakes winners. He leads all other European stallions by three-year-old AND two-year-old winners to runners percentage, with multiple G2 winner, and Irish Champion favourite, Economics, and Royal Ascot G3 winner Fairy Godmother leading those crops.
