Romantic Proposal, a daughter of Raven’s Pass, led home a Darley 1-2 in the Listed Dash Stakes over six furlongs at the Curragh on Saturday, 26 June, ahead of Territories’ first-crop daughter Teresa Mendoza.
Last of the field when passing the two furlong marker, Romantic Proposal began to make good headway under jockey Chris Hayes. Ridden to the fore a furlong out, Romantic Proposal pulled clear in the final strides to win comfortably by a length and a half to the chasing Teresa Mendoza.
Bred by Fastnet Stud, Romantic Proposal is the best performer out of the winning Diktat mare Playwithmyheart. She is a half-sister to G1 victor Toylsome and G3 Firth Of Clyde heroine Coral Mist. They are out of a half-sister to Queen Mary victrix Dance Parade, dam of dual G1 winner Leading Light.
European Champion miler Raven’s Pass is the sire of 37 individual Stakes winners including G1 winners Tower Of London, Matterhorn and Royal Marine. He has enjoyed success this season with Raven’s Cry taking the Miss Houston Turf Stakes alongside Group performances from Lemista and the aforementioned Romantic Proposal.
