Manduro added a new Black Type winner to his record on Saturday, 9 November when his son Diluvien was victorious in the Listed Prix Denisy at Saint-Cloud.
Settled towards the rear of the field under Stephane Pasquier and was always travelling well. Asked for his effort once entering the home straight, the four-year-old moved up the centre of the track and taking the lead inside the final two furlongs, held off the late challenge from Endorphine to win by a short head. The pair were some seven lengths clear of the rest of the field and this was Diluvien’s seventh career win.
Bred by Wertheimer et Frere, Diluvien is out of the Group-placed Listed winner Soldera, also dam of G2 winner Exhi and the grandam of Prix Dollar winner and G1 performer Alignement.
Manduro, who stands at Haras du Logis at a fee of €7,000, Oct 1 SLF, is sire of six G1 winners to date, including superb stayer Vazirabad. This year, he has sired nine Black Type performers, two of whom have won at Group level.
