Heritage Stakes no sweat for Perspiration

Too Darn Hot colt sweeps past three-year-old rivals to open his Stakes-race account

Perspiration added the first Black Type to his pedigree page when the son of Too Darn Hot came from last at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 28 September to win the Listed Heritage Stakes for three-year-olds over 1,100m.

With champion apprentice Zac Lloyd in the saddle, Perspiration mowed down Gatsby’s to win by a short head with Ikasara just over two lengths away in third place.

Trained at Warwick Farm by Ciaron Maher, Perspiration has now won two races and has two placings from just five starts for earnings of $232,850.

The colt’s victory came three weeks after Silmarillion (Too Darn Hot) won the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes over 1,200m at The Valley and took the stallion’s individual Stakes-race winners to 14, including G1 winners Broadsiding and Fallen Angel, since he commenced stud duties just four years ago.

Out of Latitude, Perspiration was bred by Mr G. Nolan and offered by Rosari Farm, Warwick at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

This colt was bred by Rosari Farm and purchased for $270,000 by Ciaron Maher Bloodstock and Group 1 Bloodstock, who now has a filly foal full sister on the ground.
