The first foal by Dalham Hall resident Librettist has arrived.
Rabbah Bloodstock’s seven-year-old Kris mare Tropical Breeze produced a bay colt by the exceptional son of Danzig on 9 January at Kildangan Stud in Ireland and was described as, “a nice individual with plenty of bone”. The dam is a half-sister to Rainbow Mirage, who was Stakes-placed as a juvenile last year and is also from the family of G1 Caulfield Cup winner Taufan’s Melody and multiple Stakes winner Free To Speak. She has a 2007 colt by Librettist’s half-brother Dubai Destination and is due to visit King's Best this year.
Librettist, who recorded seven victories from ten starts during his racing career, was outstanding as a four-year-old, notching up five victories including the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois (where he beat both Manduro and Ramonti) and the G1 Prix du Moulin.
During his first season at stud he covered a stellar book of mares that included 31 Black type-performing mares and 27 producers of Stakes winners, most notably Cal Norma’s Lady (dam of Bertolini's Cheveley Park Stud Stakes winner Donna Blini), Moyesii (dam of G1 winner Kirklees), Janaat (dam of Lend A Hand) and Sweet Revival (dam of US G1 winner Sweet Return). His fee for the 2008 season is £10,000 October 1st Special live foal.
