First season sire, Earthlight, sired his first Black Type winner when his juvenile daughter, Daylight took another step forward in her career to easily land the G3 Prix de Cabourg at Deauville, France on Sunday, 28 July.
Making her third career start, the two-year-old filly, who is trained by Patrice Cottier, jumped well from the gates and was soon settled in third. Travelling smoothly into contention inside the 300m marker, Daylight hit the front with just over 200m to run and soon eased clear to record a two and a half length victory in the 1200m race.

This was a second victory for Daylight who won by an impressive four and a half lengths on debut at Chantilly in May. She returned to that track the following month where she finished third in the G3 Prix du Bois.
Bred by S.C.E.A. Ecurie Haras Du Cadran, Daylight was an Arqana Deauville Yearling Sales purchase. She is the second foal out of the Listed-winning mare, Latita (Silver Frost), who also has a filly foal by Teofilo.
Earthlight was himself a Champion two-year-old in France having won the G1 Prix Morny and G1 Middle Park Stakes where he set a juvenile course record. The young stallion has got off to a great start in his new stud career and has so far sired seven individual winners, amongst them are Mr Lightside, a dual winner, Cayman Tai, Xanthe and Against The Wind.
