Night Of Thunder is enjoying an excellent season and on Saturday, 10 August he sired his thirteenth Black Type winner, so far this year, when his four-year-old daughter Choisya, made her breakthrough at Stakes level to land the Listed Dick Hern Stakes at Haydock.
Choisya, who is trained by Simon & Ed Crisford, after jumping smartly from the gates was raced towards the rear. Travelling on the inside rail, the filly made her challenge through the field approaching the final quarter mile to take up the lead in the closing stages. She stayed on gamely to win by a length and a half in this mile contest.

This was a fifth career win for the Mr Mohammed Al Nabouda-owned filly, who was also runner-up in the Listed Snowdrop Stakes at Kempton in the Spring when beaten by just a head.
Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock Ltd, Choisya is out of the winning Singspiel mare, Fragrancy who is responsible for six winners of which four are Black Type performers, including Listed-winner, Pelerin. Fragrancy herself is an own-sister to G3-performer Jathabah.
Night Of Thunder is so far the sire of 53 individual Stakes winners. He was the sire of this year’s G2 Dante Stakes winner, Economics, who won the race by an incredible six lengths. Amongst his other Group winners this year are Dynamic Pricing, G3 Albany Stakes winner Fairy Godmother, Royal Dress and Romantic Style.
