Dubawi reached a notable milestone on Saturday February 27 when his son The Blue Eye became his 100th individual Stakes winner. The four-year-old colt was winning his eighth career race, form only 14 starts, storming down the outside to a very impressive victory in the local G1 contest (an International Listed race). The was the third victory in the race for progeny of Dubawi after Dubday’s victories the previous two seasons.
Starting his career in France, the Aleyrion Bloodstock-bred colt is a son of the multiple G3-winner Soneva (Cherokee Run) and from the family of New Zealand’s Champion filly King’s Rose.
Back in 2009 at the St Leger meeting at Doncaster, Sand Vixen and Poet’s Voice set the ball rolling for Dubawi, winning a brace of G2 juvenile contests, which led to him becoming the fastest sire ever to reach 50 individual Group winners. Now with an envious CV that includes 23 G1 winners, he is one of the World’s best, with G1-winning sprinters, milers and middle-distance runners on all three surface types.
He is standing this season at a fee of £225,000 Oct 1st SLF, alongside his sons Hunter's Light, Night Of Thunder and Poet’s Voice in Europe.
