Allybar, a four-year-old son of King’s Best, maintained his perfect record at Meydan and gained his first Group victory when landing round two of the G3 Al Maktoum Challenge on 18 February.
Settled at the rear of the field under Ahmed Ajtebi, Allybar accelerated impressively down the home straight having taken the widest route around the final turn and comfortably held off the late challenge from previous G1 winner Crowded House to win the nine-furlong contest in style.
Previously trained in France by Carlos Laffon-Parias before transferring to Godolphin, Allybar has now won or placed in ten of his 14 starts including a win in the Listed Prix Francois Mathet last year.
Bred by Wertheimer Et Frere, Allybar is out of the winning Irish River mare Irika who is a full sister to Toujours Irish – dam of King’s Best’s G1-winning daughter Dubai Surprise.
King’s Best, who stands at Haras du Logis in Normandy, has now sired 16 individual Group winners, with four victorious at the highest level including new Darley stallion Creachadoir.
King’s Best’s fee for 2010 is €15,000 October 1st terms.
