Dubawi filly Aquila d’Oriente gained her first black-type victory in the Listed Premio Criterium Aretuseo over a mile at Siracusa on Saturday.
Bred by Azienda Agricola Luciani Loreto from the Alzao mare Fanofadiga, the two-year-old finished third on her last start in the Listed Criterium Feminile at Capannelle, having won her maiden on 15 July over 1500m at Naples.
Aqulia d’Oriente becomes the 37th stakes winner for Dubawi, whose best runners this year include the G1 winners Dubawi Heights, Happy Archer, Lucky Nine and Secret Admirer, G2 winner and 2,000 Guineas runner-up Dubawi Gold, and the Deutsches St Leger winner Fox Hunt.
Dubawi, whose yearlings made up to £263,000 at this year’s sales and averaged £90,000 for 25 sold, stands for £75,000, October 1, Special Live Foal.
