Prince Bishop, a four-year-old son of Dubawi, came back to his sparkling best when decively landing the Listed Floodlit Stakes over Kempton Park’s 12-furlong Polytrack course. Trained as a three-year-old by Andre Fabre when setting a four-race winning sequence, culminating in the G2 Prix du Conseil de Paris, today’s three-and-three quarter length triumph was his first victory of 2011.
Bred by Thurso Limited, Prince Bishop is one of three winners out of North East Bay, herself a half-sister to Stakes winner Hold To Ransom and from the family of Most Welcome.
Prince Bishop is the 21st Stakes winner sired by Dubawi in 2011 alone. Amongst those are four top-level winners spanning four continents. In Germany, Waldmark was victorious in their Derby, while in the U.S., Dubawi Heights landed a brace of G1’s, the Gamely and Yellow Ribbon Stakes and runs this weekend at the Breeders’ Cup meet. In South Africa, Happy Archer landed her second G1-success in the Garden Province Stakes, while top Australia filly Secret Admirer took the Epsom Handicap to go with her 2010 G1 triumph in the Flight Stakes.
