Singspiel's G3-winning son Mulaqat returned to winning ways with a Black type victory on 16 March, taking the Listed Abu Dhabi Championship (pictured).
The five-year-old won the 11-furlong contest by a quarter of a length from Fenice, with last year's winner Great Plains providing his sire Halling with his second Stakes peformer of the weekend (following Hattan's win in the G3 Winter Derby) by taking third. This was his third victory at Black type level, following his 2006 wins in the G3 Rose Of Lancaster Stakes and Listed Newmarket Stakes.
Owned and bred by Sheikh Ahmed, Mulaqat is out of the winning Lahib mare Atamana, who is from the family of two G1 Yorkshire Oaks winners in Untold and Sally Brown.
Singspiel, who stands at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket, has now sired five individual Stakes performers this year, including G3 Dubai City Of Gold winner Gower Song and Tramuntana (last seen finishing third in the G1 Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield in Australia).
