With only his second runner, first-season sire Refuse To Bend has had his first winner in the form of smart Warwick scorer To The Point.
Bred by Mrs Johnny Eddis from the Diesis mare Be Decisive, the filly runs in the colours of John Fretwell and is trained by Ed McMahon. Her winning debut was made in fine style as she displayed an impressive turn of foot to win by two-and-a-half lengths. She may now head to Royal Ascot for the G2 Queen Mary Stakes.
In France, the Andre Fabre-trained Not Just Swing, by King's Best landed the Prix d’Hedouville at Longchamp. Thos was the fourth victory for the four-year-old colt, who was bred by Petra Bloodstock Agency Ltd and also won a Listed race last August at Clairefontaine.
On the same card, Percolator, by another Darley freshman Kheleyf, was the second of the sire’s early winners to score again, after Dispol Kylie’s win on Sunday. Percolator won the Prix de Bois Preau for British trainer Paul Cole.
