British-bred Hatta Fort records his first Stakes win Stateside on Saturday with victory in the G3 Perryville Stakes on the synthetic track at Keeneland.
A first-rate juvenile when trained in the UK by Mick Channon, the Cape Cross colt won last year’s G2 Superlative Stakes and ran fourth in the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere. Switched to Godolphin’s US training base over the winter, Hatta Fort was just touched off in the Lafayette Stakes at Keeneland in April on his American debut.
Bred by Wellsummers Farm in Marlborough, Hatta Fort is out of Oshiponga (Barathea), who has a yearling colt from the first crop of Dubawi.
He is the ninth Stakes winner for Cape Cross this year, including G2 winners Russian Cross, Treat Gently and Sabana Perdida.
In Sweden on Sunday, four-year-old Singspiel colt Luca Brasi recorded his second successive Listed victory when winning the ten-furlong Songline Classic at Taby.
