Second Stakes win for Baharah

Elusive Quality filly rounds off sensational week for her sire with victory at Lingfield

Baharah claimed her second Listed prize of the season with a hard fought victory in the Fleur de Lys Fillies’ Stakes at Lingfield in England on Thursday.

The four-year-old Darley-bred daughter of Elusive Quality has now won five of her 13 starts and has been placed on three occasions. Her dam Bahr, by Generous, won the Ribblesdale Stakes for Godolphin in 1998 and was third in the Darley Irish Oaks.

The first day of the Magic Millions National Horses-In-Training Sale on the Gold Coast saw Elusive Qulaity’s name feature among the top lots when a filly out of Sabkha (Green Desert) sold for A$140,000, making her the third top-priced lot of the day. Just above her in the opening session's results was a colt by Exceed And Excel, who fetched A$150,000. His is out of Group One winner Love Dance and was bought by Dr Stanley Ho of the Macau Jockey Club.

Elusive Quality has enjoyed a sensational week following the victories of Raven’s Pass in the Breeders’ Cup Classic and two-year-old Evasive in the G3 Horris Hill Stakes in the UK.
