Dubai Destination and Halling both added new Stakes winners to their tallies over the weekend when Irish-bred Maid For Music landed the Golden Poppy Stakes (1700m) in America and Renowing won on his second start in Italy.
Maid For Music, by Dubai Destination, raced initially in the UK as a two-year-old, winning a seven-furlong maiden at Salisbury last July before being sold for 42,000gns at Tattersalls horses-in-training sale. Bred by Celbridge Estates Ltd, the three-year-old filly out of Green Tambourine (Green Desert), is now a Stakes winner on only her second start in her adopted country.
Renowing, who was bred in the UAE by Darley during Halling's stint at Hatta Stud in Dubai, is now two wins from two runs after scoring on debut over a mile (1600m) on 5 April. Stepping up immediately into Stakes company and over the extended distance of ten furlongs (2000m), the three-year-old colt kept his unbeaten record intact when dead-heating in the Listed Premiio Botticelli at Cappanelle racecourse in Rome on Sunday.
