Darley sires responsible for the first three home in G2 Prix Greffulhe with Cutlass Bay becoming Halling's 12th G2 winner

The G2 Prix Greffulhe, run over ten furlongs at Saint-Cloud on 12 May proved extremely successful for the Darley stallions who were responsible for the first three horses home.

Andre Fabre’s decision to supplement Cutlass Bay for the recognised French Derby trial certainly paid off, with Frankie Dettori guiding the son of Halling to a half-length victory over his stablemate and paternal half-brother Cavalryman. Allybar (King's Best), who was also supplemented for this race finished well to take third place and complete the Darley-sired trifecta.

Cutlass Bay is now unbeaten in three starts, having broken his maiden by four lengths last October before returning at three with a victory at Fontainebleu in March. Bred in the UAE and out of the Danzig mare Dunnes River, Cutlass Bay is a full brother to another G2 winner in Boscobel.

Halling has now sired 12 individual G2 winners and 22 horses that have performed at G1 or G2 level.  An impressive 36% of his colts are rated 100+ by Timeform, with 15% rated 115 or above.
