Dubawi, Europe’s current leading first-season sire took his number of individual winners to 22 on 7 September when Pherousa landed the five-furlong fillies’ maiden at Bath.
Bred by Whitsbury Manor Stud and Pigeon House Stud, Pherousa is out of the winning Spectrum mare Sea Nymph, whose own dam is a half-sister to Hellenic, producer of three G1 winners including Islington.
Dubawi is also sire of St Hugh’s Stakes winner Sand Vixen, who holds an entry in this Friday’s G2 Flying Childers Stakes; plus promising colt Poet’s Voice who could line up in the G1 National Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday or join his paternal half-brother Dubawi Phantom in the G2 Champagne Stakes on St Leger day at Doncaster.
