Young Danzig stallion Country Reel sired his first Stakes winner on Sunday when Go Country triumphed in the Listed Junioren Preis at Dusseldorf over 1600m.
A €64,000 Baden-Baden yearling, the colt is out of Gerone, by Saumarez, and was bred by Ralf Ernst and Julian Ince. He is a half-brother to Sundown (Singspiel), a winner at Saint-Cloud in France earlier this year.
Go Country recorded his first win at Dresden on 8 August and is one of five individual winners in Europe for his sire, whose southern hemisphere runners include the Listed-placed Phenomenal Lass.
In Rome, Europe's leading first-season sire Dubawi celebrated his 24th winner of the season when Kadabra scored at a mile on her third start, having previously been fourth in the Listed Premio Perrone. The filly is out of the Mark Of Esteem mare Windy Britain, a Listed winner in Italy, and was bred by Scuderia Giocri.
