Byron records his second winner within three days

Byronic breaks his maiden in impressive style to become his first-season sire’s fourth individual winner

Darley first-season sire Byron notched his fourth individual winner on 4 July when Byronic recorded an eye-catching victory over six furlongs at Windsor.

Quickly away, the Clive Cox-trained colt was always prominent and taking the lead two furlongs out, kept to his task well and won by two lengths.

Byronic, who was beaten just a short head on his racecourse debut on 23 June, was bred by Miss Jill Finegan and is out of the winning Lear Fan mare Lear’s Crown. The dam has now produced five winners, including Howya Now Kid who landed the Listed Surrey Stakes in 2007. They are from the family of G1 winner Fabulously Fast.
