Iffraaj could not have made a better start to his stud career, currently sitting atop the European first-season sires’ list, and he increased his number of individual winners to 17 in style on 19 July when Goldenveil ran out the wide-margin winner of the seven-furlong maiden at Ayr.
Prominent throughout, the Richard Fahey-trained filly took the lead with two furlongs left to run and soon moved clear of her rivals, storming home to win by seven clear lengths.
Bred by Tom and Geraldine Molan, Goldenveil is the second winner out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Line Ahead and is from the family of 2,000 Guineas and King George winner Golan.
