Libranno, from the first crop of Librettist, maintained his perfect record in spectacular style on 30 July with an all-the-way-victory in the G2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood.
Conceding weight all round, following his victory earlier this month in the G2 July Stakes, the Richard Hannon-trained colt looked the likely winner a long way from home and won by a length and a quarter.
He is now unbeaten in three starts and is likely to step up to G1 level for his next start. He has also earned quotes of around 20-1 for next year’s 2,000 Guineas.
Libranno, owned and bred by Oliver McDowell, is out of the Singspiel mare Annabelle Ja, who has a yearling by Shirocco and a Tiger Hill colt foal.
Librettist is sire of a further five winners, including dual winner Major Conquest – rated 92 by Timeform.
Also on Friday, leading first-season sire Iffraaj recorded his second winner in two days and took his total to an impressive 20 when the Kevin Prendergast-trained When Not Iff won by five lengths at Galway.
Bred by Max Morris, the filly is out of the winning Sadler's Wells mare Sheer Bliss, a half-sister to Derby winner Oath and dual G1 winner Pelder.
