Rewilding, a three-year-old son of Tiger Hill, gained his first Pattern success in tremendous fashion on 17 August, winning the G2 Great Voltigeur Stakes by four lengths at York.
Settled third from last under Frankie Dettori, the Godolphin colt made steady progress as the field entered the straight and once asked to quicken two furlongs from home, soon swept past his rivals and ran on superbly to win with ease.
Last seen finishing a creditable third behind Workforce (King's Best) in the Derby, Rewilding has also won the Listed Cocked Hat Stakes this year. He will now head for the world's oldest Classic, the St Leger, which is due to be run at Doncaster on 11 September.
Bred by Watership Down Stud, Rewilding is out of the Prix Vermeille winner Darara, making him a half-brother to Singspiel's outstanding multiple G1 winner Dar Re Mi.
Tiger Hill has now sired 15 individual Group winners, and ten Black type performers this year including fellow G2 winner Eye Of The Tiger.
