Two winners in two days for Shirocco

Rising Wind wins first time out to take her first-season sire’s winners’ tally to four

First-season sire Shirocco recorded his second winner in as many days on 14 September when his daughter Rising Wind won at the first time of asking at Listowel.

Settled in mid-division, the Kevin Prendergast-trained filly was asked to quicken once entering the straight and took the lead inside the final furlong to win by a head.

Owned and bred by Lady O’Reilly, Rising Wind is the second winner out of Right Key, herself a dual G3 winner. Right Key, who has a yearling filly by Manduro, is an own sister to Stakes winner and producer Wrong Key.
